Synergy, Region 1 and SchoolReach
Synergy, Region 1 and SchoolReach

Region 1 would like to announce a new relationship that we have developed with a company called SchoolReach Instant Parent Contact. As the name implies, SchoolReach is a parent notification system.

Why did we select their system?
In addition to being a user friendly, feature rich software application, SchoolReach has a process called EZ Data Synch that allows us to build the automated transfer of parent contact information from Synergy, your student information system, to the SchoolReach hosted location. It simply saves time and provide more up to date, accurate parent contact information.

What does this mean to your district?
Once you make a  parent contact change in Synergy, it will update in SchoolReach every day. The most current parent contact information in Synergy will now be in your parent notification system. Staff  should no longer have to change parent contact information in multiple systems. You won’t have to rely on parents to change their contact information in your parent notification system.

What is the cost of the system?
The annual cost is $2.50 per student for the Basic level, which includes the EZ Data Synch process to get your parent contact information in Synergy updated daily to SchoolReach. This cost is competitive with other parent notification systems that don’t provide the automated update of parent contact information. For an additional $.25 per student annual cost, you may upgrade to the Plus level of SchoolReach and expand the functionality for automated attendance and lunch balance notification.

Social Media Interface!

Does your school have a Facebook or Twitter account? In many cases you may want to post information sent through SchoolReach to your social media outlets as well. Now one simple process takes care of both postings. Integrating your SchoolReach account with your school's Facebook and Twitter accounts couldn't be easier. Just go to the "Settings" tab in SchoolReach 3.0, look for the "f" and "t" logos near the bottom of the page, and follow the simple on-screen instructions to configure your accounts. You'll need to temporarily allow pop-ups on your browser to set up the configuration. Once you've spent the minute or two it takes to set up the initial configuration you'll never need to go back-you can set it and forget it!

Now every time you send a text message through SchoolReach you'll have the option to automatically push it to Facebook or Twitter or both. This is another great feature that is only available in SchoolReach 3.0, so if you've been putting off upgrading you'll want to do it now!

iPhone and Android Apps!

You asked for it. SchoolReach delivered! SchoolReach will be releasing broadcast launch apps for both iPhone and Android-based devices. The apps will be available FREE to all SchoolReach users early this fall.*

The apps will provide full broadcast launch control and provide access to broadcast completion reports. The apps are nearing completion now and must undergo testing and an Apple authorization before release.

Throughout the country, smartphone usage is pervasive, with Android-based devices now outselling Apple-based devices. Smartphones today are versatile tools used by school administrators to help view and control their operations. We are excited to soon extend SchoolReach to our customers through their smartphone devices.

*Note: Users must be using SchoolReach version 3.0 to take advantage of this feature.
