The MARSS (Minnesota Automated Reporting Student System) support service offered by Region 1 provides your district with a resource center throughout the year to answer any MARSS related questions and assist you with the editing and file upload requirements.
Missed students or incorrect coding in your MARSS counts means dollars to the district!
Summary of Services
Region I provides a safe and secure upload process on our website for for your A and B files.
Region I stores the files electronically by MARSS school year and district number.
The edit program used is the most recent MARSS web edit program furnished by the DCFL.
The error report is reviewed, and suggestions or solutions are offered to correct the errors.
Each district’s error report is reviewed for warnings that may indicate data is not reasonable.
Region I will answer any questions concerning the errors and if necessary (due to a time constraint), modify the individual record(s) to correct the data to meet a reporting deadline or a users inability to correct the data using their software. These modifications are done very rarely and the user is reminded to review all reports for accuracy.
Users are reminded when a reporting deadline is approaching via e-mail and our MARSS contact file.
Region I will produce all the needed reports by using the MARSS web edit program and provide them to the users in an electronic format (adobe acrobat reader (pdf)) or printed copy if the user is unable to accept or read the electronic form of the reports.
Region I will send the districts files to the state of Minnesota’s web site to meet MARSS deadlines after receiving a MARSS release form.
The state level error report is reviewed and, if necessary, the district is reminded that a reporting deadline is approaching.
Region I is a resource to research and provide answers to MARSS related questions.
MARSS user meetings are scheduled as needed to disseminate MARSS related information.
MARSS 101 classes are scheduled as needed, to acquaint new staff with MARSS necessary data and reporting requirements.
For some districts, Region I has generated custom reports that are not included in the MARSS web edit program, using Microsoft’s Access program. An example is a transportation list of students sorted by transportation code, school, grade, and student name.
Region I will accept MARSS files year round to edit and provide the needed reports for administrators to monitor their districts ADM progress.
