If your Internet connection is down or performance is unsatisfactory:

1. Call the NW Links 24 hour Help Desk at (888) 503-6672.

2. Have the Help Desk open a Trouble Ticket and record the ticket number.

3. Tell the 702 technician how to best reach you for follow-up.

Have you checked your bandwidth graph to see if the bandwidth utilization may indicate a problem?

If your video connection is poor, or for videoconferencing scheduling or ITV support:

Other Network, Videoconferencing or ITV Support Reminders and Recommendations:

1. Periodically test the UPS protecting your equipment racks.

2. Call the NW Links Help Desk prior to powering down your router so they do not respond to false network alarms.

3. Do a video test call before a semester begins.

4. Be sure a person is available prior to the start of each video conference or class to ensure the room is open, equipment is turned on, the connection is successful and the video and audio are performing satisfactorily.

Network Management Issues:

1. If a trouble ticket is not resolved in a reasonable time - email or call Dawnyell Senger at dawnyell@region1.k12.mn.us or (800) 450-2990, Ext 118.

2. To see a graphical display of average bandwidth for your site(s):
a. Go to http://cacti.702com.net/cacti/
b. Enter your username and passwordc. Click on your site name

3. To verify the speed of your connection

a. Go to http://tac.702com.net/support.php
b. Click on Speed Test
c. Click the Run the Test button

i. The speed of your connection is measured by a server at 702 Communications.
ii. This test should be done at a time when LAN activity is light.
