MARSS Deadlines

MARSS Deadlines: 

Fall FY 2017

Fall FY 2017 (16/17 School Year) files are due at MDE by Monday December 19, 2016. This data is due at RMIC on the suggested date of Monday, December 12, 2016. Contact your RMIC for the exact date. This data will be used for Child Count and Comp Rev. The MFR FY 2018 Compensatory Revenue Entitlement Report will be based on this data.

The FINAL Fall SUBMISSION will be due at the end of December, note there will be NO appeal process for Fall data.

Fall Data is used for: 

  • Compensatory Revenue
  • Q Comp
  • Title 1
  • School Readiness Aid
  • Child Count
  • Pre-code state assessment documents

There is NO Fall appeal process, it is imperative that you review your reports for accuracy. MDE also publishes a Fall Checklist which you should review prior to the final reporting period as well. Start early if you can as we are quickly approaching the busy holiday season…

Each of the following local and statewide MARSS reports should be shared with the individual(s) specified to assist with confirming data accuracy. 

Local Reports 

  • MARSS01 Fall Enrollment = Business Manager 
  • MARSS02 Child Count = Special Ed Director, Business Manager,  Resident District
    • (Students who are reported with a Special Education Evaluation Status of 4, 6 or 9 and are enrolled on December 1.)
  • MARSS03 Non-Resident = Each Resident District, Business Manager 
  • MARSS07 Edit Summary Special Education by School = Special Ed Director 
  • MARSS09 Edit Summary Home Primary Language by District = EL Director 
  • MARSS12 Compensatory Revenue Student Count by School = Food Service, Business Manager
    • (This will be necessary for Compensatory Revenue. This should include all students certified as eligible between July 1 and December 15 based on an Application for Educational Benefits, Direct Certification or MARSS Warning 364 on MARSS local Error Report.)
  • MARSS13 PSEO Student = High school counseling office 
  • MARSS18 Title 1 Status by School = Federal programs coordinator  
  • MARSS19 Special Education Tuition Billing = Special Ed Director, Business Office
    • (Students who had IEPs have been identified. New enrollment records have been created when the disability or setting changed or the IEP was terminated.)
  • MARSS22 Calendar and Title 1 Participation by School = District’s Title 1 Coordinator, School Principals 
  • MARSS23 Special Education by School All Records = Special Ed Director and/or Business Manager
    • (Students who had IEPs have been identified. New enrollment records have been created when the disability or setting changed or the IEP was terminated.)
  • MARSS23 Special Education by School December Records = Special Ed Director and/or Business Manager
    • (Students who had IEPs have been identified. New enrollment records have been created when the disability or setting changed or the IEP was terminated.) 
  • MARSS51 Homeless Federal Count = Homeless Liaison
    • (The homeless liaison is responsible for determining if a student is homeless and providing that information to the MARSS Coordinator.) 
    • Also note that per the MARSS Memo 16.04 “Without the written, signed and dated documentation, a student cannot be flagged as homeless in MARSS.  The Homeless Liaison needs to provide written, signed and dated documentation for each student determined to be homeless for a given school year. The documentation can be for individual students or a list of all homeless students.” 

Statewide Reports 

  • MARSS26 Fall Checkoff Comparison = Business Manager
  • MARSS28 Economic Indicator = Business Office and Food Service Office
    • (This will be necessary for Compensatory Revenue. This should include all students certified as eligible between July 1 and December 15 based on an Application for Educational Benefits, Direct Certification or MARSS local Error Report.) 
  • MARSS31 Residents Served Elsewhere = Business Manager and Special Ed Director
  • MARSS32 EL Eligibility = EL Coordinator
  • MARSS33 Child Count = Special Ed Director and Business Manager 
  • MARSS39 Returning Graduates = Counseling Office 
  • MARSS41 Title 1 Demographics by School = District’s Federal programs coordinator 
  • MARSS57 Special Education Teaching Models = Special Ed Director  
  • MARSS61 Unknowns for Graduation Cohorts = Counseling Office 
  • MARSS62 Charter Transportation = Transportation Director and/or Business Manager
