If your Internet connection is down or performance is unsatisfactory:

  • Call the 702 Communications 24 hour Help Desk at (888) 503-6672**
    **This number has been set to take priority over other calls when coming into 702 Helpdesk. Also, when 702’s office is closed, this number is forwarded to an on-call technician.
    Secondary contact options: call (218) 284-5702 or email helpdesk@nwmnsa.com however, if the issue is urgent, call (888) 503-6672
  • Have the Help Desk open a Trouble Ticket and make record the ticket number.
  • Tell the 702 technician how to best reach you for follow-up.

Member In-house Troubleshooting Options:

  • Check your bandwidth graph to see if bandwidth utilization may indicate a problem? See instructions below for accessing bandwidth utilization graphs for your site(s).
  • Confirm district owned equipment is functioning properly, most routers are 702 equipment therefore the demark is the physical port the firewall/CIPA plugs into.
  • DO NOT reboot 702 equipment unless instructed to do so by 702 Help Desk

Network Management Issues:

  • To see a graphical display** of average bandwidth for your site(s):
    • Go to https://nms.nwmnsa.com/login
    • Enter your username and password
    • Click on your site name

      ** This site is managed by 702 Communications thus you will need to contact them for assistance with login or graph questions.
       
  • To verify the speed of your connection run this test from in front of the firewall, so that nothing internally is drawing bandwidth, other than the testing computer.
    • Arvig sites complete the speed test with:
      • https://www.arvig.net/support/internet/speed-test/
      • Ensure that you ping off Perham
      • Click Begin Test
        • The speed of your connection is measured by a server at 702 Communications.
        • This test should be done at a time when LAN activity is light.
      • Park Region sites complete the speed test with:
        • http://www.prtel.com/internet/90/speed-test
        • Ensure that you ping off NWMNSA/702 Communications
        • Click Begin Test
          • The speed of your connection is measured by a server at 702 Communications.
          • This test should be done at a time when LAN activity is light.
      • All other members complete the speed test with:
        • http://speedtest.net/
        • Ensure that you ping off NWMNSA/702 Communications
        • Click Begin Test
          • The speed of your connection is measured by a server at 702 Communications.
          • This test should be done at a time when LAN activity is light.
