The first mandatory submission:

Early Education Reminder

Now is a good time to work on Early Education data. Take advantage of the upcoming break in MARSS deadlines to review your Early Education Dynamic Reports in the EDVP to ensure that data is reported via Ed-Fi the way you expect. Keep in mind that unlike the MARSS reports, the EDVP reports have delayed updates. Follow the Early Education document in Synergy Help under State Reporting > Region 1 Reporting Guides. Work through any data entry and cleanup now that the weather is cooler, so you have less to do when summer is calling your name!

Ed-Fi Mass Processes in Synergy Document Updated

The Region 1 Ed-Fi Mass Processes document in Help has been updated. Using suggestions from our conference in October, along with additional findings, this document has been improved and now has a new January 2026 timestamp. Now included are sections on how to read the guide and a summary for reporting collections.

However, it is still considered a DRAFT, so please send any suggestions on what would make this document better for you!

MARSS 21 Error and Warning Messages

It's easy to forget about basics when you're zoomed in on the finer details. This is a reminder to run the MARSS 21 Error and Warning Messages report under your MARSS Local Secure Reports. The MARSS 21 lists all of the different errors and warnings you see when reviewing the MARSS 08 Error Report, but with more detail.

You can run the report to see everything in PDF form. It can be saved for reference or even printed out for the notetakers out there. You can also click Download in the upper right to save it as a spreadsheet.

Use this report when you're working on your MARSS errors for more detail on why you may be receiving a certain error.

Ed-Fi Myths Debunked

Myth: You are all alone to work on your Ed-Fi data.

FALSE: We are here to help you! It may seem like you are the only one, but we don't want you to feel that way. The people at MDE want you to succeed, and we do too (I promise)! Please reach out if you feel stuck or alone. We are working hard on getting you more resources, more information, and more help. Even if that is just emotional support. Ed-Fi has rocked the boat, and we want to help you grow your sea legs! Email synergy@region1.k12.mn.us.
